Club badge progress & Birthday Buffet
Cavalcade of Calamity and Copycat are badges for our ceremony at the cottage. Cavalcade goes to the player with the most deaths worth fewer than 9 points, with a minimum of three qualifying deaths. Copycat goes to the member whose celebrity dies second when two different members’ celebrities die on the same date, using the actual date and time of death. Neither changes the day-to-day standings or scoring.
If the draft were held now
Opening order runs from lowest to highest score, then reverses. Tied positions are decided by rock, paper, scissors. Steal order needs the actual dates of death; the rows below are in draft order.
Available spaces reflect listed passings, before any steals or jettisons. Diamonds and celebrities over 100 cannot be jettisoned.

A life remembered.
A story shared.
At the next Stammtisch following a passing, the member presents a Celebration of Life speech about that person’s life and contribution to the world.
How the points work
- A passing at age 100 earns 10 points.
- At age 101 or older, 100 minus age gives a penalty: −1 at 101, −2 at 102, and so on.
- The first and last selections carry double points in the spreadsheet.
“Awarded” points contribute to the standings. For other selections, “Value” shows the points at the age shown. Ages and values use the register’s update date.
Scoring notes
The standings retain the spreadsheet’s recorded totals and allocations. Kevin Keegan’s 25 points are recorded as 12 for Matt and 13 for Ken; Ken’s additional entry is labelled “BB” in the sheet.
Dolly Parton’s verified date of passing is included here. Her 20 points were already counted in Jamie’s total.
Values for selections without an awarded score use the age rules above. Where a spreadsheet value differs, you can see it by opening that person’s entry.

Celebration of Life Pool

Each member of Stammtisch has a list of 50 Celebrities. When a celebrity on your list dies, you get points. Whoever has the most points at the end of the year wins.
POINTS
The number of points is equal to 100 minus their age at time of death.
If the celebrity is 100 years old when they die, you receive 10 points, and a Steal at the next draft. Diamond bonuses apply as described below; a Brown Diamond at 100 earns two Blood Diamonds instead of a Steal.
If the celebrity is over 100 when they die, you lose points. The number of points is equal to their age minus 100.
BLUE DIAMOND
The first Celebrity on your list, #1, is your Blue Diamond.
When your Blue Diamond dies, you get double points (or lose double points, if they’re over 100.) You also earn a Steal at the next draft.
If your Blue Diamond dies at exactly 100, you earn two Steals.
BROWN DIAMOND
The last Celebrity on your list, #50, is your Brown Diamond.
When your Brown Diamond dies, you get double points (or lose double points, if they’re over 100.) You also earn a Blood Diamond at the next draft. (Blood Diamond is a protection you place on one of your celebrities, making them unstealable.)
If your Brown Diamond dies at exactly 100, you earn two Blood Diamonds.
PRIZE
The person with the highest score for the year (January 1 to December 31) gets a $100 gift, paid for and chosen by the other five.
If players tie for the win, they share the prize.
BIRTHDAY BUFFET
If we discover a celebrity dies on someone’s birthday, the birthday boy gets the points, regardless of whose list their on. (NOTE: Birthday Buffet points are based on when we learn the death occurred, not necessarily the date of death. A player cannot withhold information of a death to benefit.)
If a 100-year-old dies, they get the 10 points, but NOT the Steal.
Diamonds are excluded from Birthday Buffet.

DRAFTING
Every January, we draft new Celebrities until we each have 50 again.
DRAFT - ORDER OF BUSINESS
FIRST - Blood Diamonds
If your Brown Diamond died in the previous calendar year, you add a Blood Diamond to someone on your list, making them ineligible for Steals and Jettisons. (Note Blood Diamonds do NOT give you double-points when they die, unlike the Blue or Brown Diamond.)
Whoever had the youngest celebrity death the previous year also gets a Blood Diamond. If needed, compare ages at the day level.
SECOND - Steals
Steals go next. (Remember, you’re eligible for a steal if you had a Celebrity die at 100, or if your Blue Diamond died.) Steals happen in the same order as the deaths prompting them.
You can steal any Celebrity from anyone else’s list, excluding Diamonds. Once a Celebrity is stolen, they can’t be stolen again until next year.
THIRD - Devil’s Share
The player with the lowest points from the previous year gets either one Steal OR one Blood Diamond.
If players tie for the lowest score, each receives Devil’s Share.
THIRD - Jettisons
If you have fewer than five spots available on your list, you can jettison Celebrities until you have five. You can waive this right if you prefer to keep your current Celebrities. (In that case you won’t get five new picks.) If you have five or more spots available, you’re not eligible to jettison.
You can’t jettison a Diamond, or a Celebrity over 100 years.
You can jettison a 100-year-old Celebrity, but if they die before they turn 101, you lose ten points.
Once all players have five spots available, or have chosen not to jettison, jettisoning is complete.
All jettisoned Celebrities become immediately available for the draft.
FOURTH - Draft
Your new drafts replace empty slots on your list.
The person with lowest score for the previous year drafts first, followed by second lowest, etc. The person with the highest overall score goes last, then drafts again and it goes back down the line.
Tied scores for draft order are resolved by rock, paper, scissors.
Drafting continues until all lists are back to 50 celebrities.
FIFTH - New Diamonds
If any of your Diamonds died the previous year, they can be replaced by any of your new drafts, or by moving an existing celebrity from your list into the Diamond spot. (Note that when a Blood Diamond dies, the Blood Diamond is lost… Unlike a Blue Diamond or Brown Diamond, the distinction dies with the celebrity.)
The draft order retains the supplied labels, including the two “THIRD” steps.
